Each ~node~ has several incomming ~lymph~ vessels or afferent vessels emerging from the |cortex|. The afferent vessels transport the tissue fluid to the ~node~. Usually there is only one outgoing or |efferent vessel|. It extends directly from the |medulla| which reaches a portion of the surface of the ~node~. The |efferent vessel| carries the filtered fluid to the main duct.
